Jiva Jimenez grew up in a community of photographers, artists and musicians starting as a teenager. At the age of 18, Jiva started taking pictures in events and eventually landed a job in one of the Philippines’ respected papers as a photojournalist for "The Manila Bulletin". He was a correspondent back then and was sent to Cagayan de Oro City for a project but it was also in this city wherein he found his niche in the field of fashion and wedding photography. In the year 2006-2007, Jiva Jimenez became known as one of the top fashion photographers in Cagayan de Oro City. He covered The Ms. Cagayan Beauty Pageant as well as Ms. Teen Philippines for the year 2007. From there, he then found his first client for a wedding. At first he was hesitant, as he knows the pressure and responsibilities that goes along with the job. Due to the persistence of the client who loved his work at first sight, he gained the courage to do the job. Year 2009 was when Jiva Jimenez started his StudioPhotography. After years of hard work, is now one of the Philippines’ Multiple Awarded-Winning Photographers. Joining the Wedding and Portrait Photographer of the Philippines (WPPP) and Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) made a huge boost to Jiva Jimenez’s career. Started with winning multiple national awards in the Philippines, Jiva Jimenez has also bagged 2 International Awards from Wedding and Portrait Photographer in Asia (WPPA): Bride & Groom Together Category & Landscape Category; and from WPPI: 2nd Place Engagement Category, People’s Choice Award and 38 Silver Awards making him an official Associate Member of WPPI. 2017 he got his title (WPPI) Master Photographer. and (WPPP) Master Photographer, Certified Wedding Photographer , and Photographer of the Year 2016-2017. Sharing what he has learned over the years has been one of Jiva’s passions, as well. Aside from his love in photography, he also gives time to meet friends who have the same passion. He has conducted numerous workshops in Cagayan de Oro from Basic to Advance to Creative Lighting to Wedding Photography, as well as in the cities of Cebu, Davao, Surigao, Iligan, as well as in Singapore, Kuwait and the USA. Jiva Jimenez is now based in Austin Texas as a Contemporary Destination Wedding Photographer. Wedding Photography has always been his passion and does his job perfectly well, gaining him the adoration of his clients as well as his fellow wedding vendors. Jiva Jimenez’s artistic photojournalistic style has gained him multiple international awards, affirming his top-notch artistry.
